Now that school has started, a fun way I’m getting my daughter excited for the year ahead is to create our favorite after school snacks together. Like most kids she craves cookies, and she loves to bake with me so we made Krusteaz Bakery Style Cookie Mixes.
Since time is tight once she gets home from school, I find Krusteaz baking mixes very convenient since as thye take minimal effort, and the results are delicious. We made Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar cookies which only require the cookie mix, 1 egg and a ½ stick of butter or margarine.
We used Curious Chef cookie cutters and measuring spoons made specifically for kids that Krusteaz sent to us. My daughter loved helping to roll the dough and press in shapes of a star, heart, teddy bear, duck and butterfly. We added colorful sprinkles to each cookie. In just about 10 minutes the cookies were done.
The delicious smell of sugar cookies filled our kitchen. My daughter could not wait to try them. I love cookies right out of the oven when they’re warm and soft. I tried one of the cookies and thought to myself, “Wow, these are SO good!” I ate three more right then and there – they were that scrumptious.
