Windsock Craft Using Recycled Juice Box
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Juicy Juice. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Whether your child is going to school in-person or remote, many are finding that traditional after-school activities are limited or on hold. With this in mind, try having kids do crafts at home to stay engaged. I love creating crafts using items we already have on hand. Using recycled items is also a great way to encourage creativity, plus it’s earth-friendly.
We always have Juicy Juice 100% Juice in the house whether to pair with an after-school snack or to pack into lunch bags for the next day. I like that Juicy Juice 100% juice has no added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. It also provides an excellent source of Vitamin C.
When my daughter is done drinking Juicy Juice, we save the box to use for crafts. Juicy Juice offers craft ideas on JuicyJuice.com such as a School Bus Juice Box Craft and Juicy Juice Desk Organizer. We created our own craft idea below that’s perfect for breezy fall days.

Windsock Craft Directions
1. Gather supplies. You’ll need:
- Construction paper
- Hole Puncher
- Pencil
- Ribbon
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Stickers
- Tape

2. Have an adult help you to cut off the top and bottom of the juice box. Make sure to rinse out any juice inside. Let the juice box dry completely. Once it’s dry, you’re ready to cover the juice box. On a construction paper color of your choice, use a ruler to measure a 7″ wide by 4.75″ high rectangle. Use a pencil to mark the cut lines.

3. Using scissors, cut out the rectangle you just outlined. Place the juice box on it.

4. Wrap the paper around the box. The edges will overlap a bit, and this is okay. Tape the edges together. Then use a piece of tape to secure the paper to the bottom of the juice box so the paper won’t slip off.

5. Create holes for your hanger at the top of the juice box. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole on the narrow sides of the juice box (one on each side). If you don’t have a hole puncher, ask an adult to use scissors to create the holes.

6. Now punch holes around the bottom edge of the juice box. These are the holes the ribbons will be tied to.

7. Make your hanger. Insert one end of a piece of ribbon or string into a hole. Next, insert the other end into the hole on the opposite side of the juice box.

8. Tie knots on the inside of each handle. The photo below shows the juice box looking down from the top.

9. Decorate your windsock with stickers.

10. Insert ribbon into holes at the bottom of the juice box. Secure each by tying a knot on the inside.

11. Now hang the windsock outside and enjoy watching it blow in the breeze!
