After months of waiting, my printed hardcover books, It’s Chinese New Year, Curious George, finally arrived! They came just in time for the interviews I’d already started doing for the book. Here’s a video of the unboxing. My daughter was a bit shy and didn’t want to be on video, so you’ll just hear her pipe in when I pull the book out of the box.
It’s such an amazing feeling to hold my first published book. It makes it so real after years and years of trying to get published. It’s Chinese New Year, Curious George is a sturdy book with seven tabs, each featuring a theme.
I love the book cover. Red and gold are Chinese New Year colors for luck and fortune. The gold-embossed title is really special. In the book industry, using gold-embossed printing is not as common because of the additional expense required.
The colors of the book really stand out, and the illustrations capture the festive atmosphere of the holiday.
If you’re interested in purchasing the book, you can find it on Amazon or any other place where books are sold. Until the launch date on January 3, 2023, the book is available for pre-order online.
I hope you enjoy the unboxing video and reading the book as much as I did writing it!
