Two Tigers – A Traditional Chinese Nursery Rhyme [VIDEO]
Songs and books are a great way to introduce kids to new languages. Even if they may not understand the word meanings yet, they eventually will. Hearing the words repeatedly can also help kids learn the pronunciation of the words. That’s why learning a nursery rhyme is an ideal place to start.

I had the honor of recording a video of me teaching the traditional Chinese nursery rhyme called “Two Tigers” for the new YouTube channel Music Museum Online. Founded by Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou of Daria’s Music – World Music for Children, Music Museum Online is a virtual museum featuring amazing, authentic instruments and music from all over the world.
In the video, I go over both the English and Chinese lyrics for the nursery rhyme. With the help of my Bao Bao Learns Chinese press and play musical song book, viewers can hear the song sung with musical accompaniment. The tune for “Two Tigers” is the same as the English nursery rhyme “Are You Sleeping?” so kids may already be familiar with it.
Hope you enjoyed the video! To subscribe to Music Museum Online, click here to be brought to its YouTube channel.
