A Teacher Like You
Written by Frank Murphy and Barbara Dan and illustrated by Kayla Harren
We have all had teachers who impacted our lives. Perhaps it was a kindergarten teacher who opened your eyes to wonderous new things in the world. Or a second-grade teacher who believed you could accomplish anything. Teachers have the power to encourage and uplift a child’s education and self-esteem.
A Teacher Like You celebrates the teachers in our lives and their everyday contributions. Written by teachers for teachers, the book highlights how educators help students reach their potential.

Sample text:
The world needs a teacher…
to be loving and accepting.
To be full of wonder and inspiration.
I needed a teacher like you.

The Lady of the Library
Written by Angie Karcher and illustrated by Rachel Sanson
The Lady of the Library celebrates how librarians – even ghost ones – can inspire children to learn and read. This imaginary story is based on the true tale of the “haunted” Willard Public Library in Evansville, Indiana.
A friendly ghostly woman roams the halls of a local library. When the library is scheduled for demolition, the building closes to the ghost’s dismay. Staff begins to remove books, and construction workers dismantle light fixtures.
A young girl sees the value of keeping the library open and wants to save it. Written in rhyme, this whimsical story follows the girl’s quest as she collaborates with the ghost and raises media attention to rescue their beloved place. They come up with innovative and fun ways to bring back patrons and raise funds.

Expressive illustrations enhance the text with details and colors that reflect the storyline. Back matter includes additional information on the Willard Public Library’s history as well as the phenomenon of haunted libraries.
The Lady of the Library story is an ode to the critical role of libraries in our communities as a place to bring people together and provide free resources to support education and literacy. The book is ideal for readers aged 4-8 years old. Purchase hardcover or electronic versions on SleepingBearPress.com, Amazon, and other major book retailers.
