Spooky Ghost Craft Made With Upcycled Juice Box
Note: This is a sponsored post for Juicy Juice; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
For many this year, Halloween may look a bit different. Despite this, kids can still get creative and have fun. My daughter loves making crafts, and Halloween is one of her favorite holidays. We decided to make our house more festive by making a spooky ghost craft out of an upcycled juice box.
Reusing a juice box is a great way to show kids how they can be earth-friendly. They can make something even cooler out of an item that would typically be thrown away.
We used a Juicy Juice box for the ghost craft since we always have this brand in the house. We love how Juicy Juice 100% juice comes in 15 flavors across their 64 oz. bottles and 6.75 oz. juice boxes offerings so there’s plenty to choose from. As a mom, I’m also glad there’s no added sugar or high fructose corn syrup added, and Juicy Juice also provides an excellent source of Vitamin C.
Spooky Ghost Craft Directions
- Black construction paper
- Black Marker
- Hole Puncher
-
Pencil
-
Ruler
-
Scissors
-
String or Ribbon (about 15 inches)
- Tape
- White paper
- Googly eyes (optional)
2. Cut the top and bottom off of the juice box. Wash the inside. Let it dry completely.
3. Use a ruler to measure a 7″W x 4.75″H rectangle on black construction paper. Use a ruler to mark your measurements and then cut it out.
4. Place the juice box on the black rectangle.
5. Wrap the black rectangle around the juice box and secure it with tape. Also, put a piece of tape at the bottom to secure the black paper to the box so that it won’t slide down.
6. Punch a hole on both narrow sides of the juice box near the top.
7. Insert each end of the string into the holes on either side of the box. Make a knot on the inside so the string doesn’t slip out. This is the hanger for the craft.
8. Fold an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of white paper (like printer paper) in half. Use a ruler and pencil to draw a line that is 2″W x 5.5″H (Note: a folded piece of printer paper will automatically be 5.5″H since it’s half the size of the 11″ paper).
9. Use your pencil to draw a ghost that fills in the entire space, as shown in the picture below. Cut out the ghost through the folded paper. Since the paper is folded, you should end up with two ghosts.
10. Now it’s time to decorate your ghosts. Use a black marker (or trace with a pencil first) to make the mouth and eyes. If you have googly eyes, glue them on instead of drawing the eyes.
11. One ghost will be taped onto the front of the juice box. The other ghost will be taped to the back.
12. You’re now finished! Hang the ghost craft in your house along with any other spooky decor to make your home festive for Halloween.
