Being Kind, Sibling Love & a Fruity Milkshake Recipe

Big Sister’s Act of Kindness

Acts of kindness don’t have to be huge gestures; they can be smaller, everyday actions as well. My daughters are like typical siblings. They sometimes fight with each other but deep down there’s a lot of sibling love. We saw this love in action when my older daughter showed kindness to her little sibling.

Little Sister scratched the back of her hand while reaching into a toy box that had an old art project with pipe cleaners. Her skin caught the end of the pipe cleaner which had been cut so unbeknownst to us it had a sharp point. As a result, she got a painful scratch. Little Sister cried for a bit. We put on a big bandage and comforted her.

Big Sister then whispered an idea to me. “Let’s make a yummy milkshake to make her feel better. She loves milkshakes!”

While Little Sister played, Big Sister and I went to the kitchen and brainstormed milkshake flavor ideas. Looking at the ingredients we had on hand, we came up with a fruity milkshake recipe.

How We Made Our Fruity Milkshake

Little Sister liked fruit, and we had frozen fruit in the freezer. We also had Juicy Juice Fruitifuls Organic Juice which we could use as our liquid instead of milk. I like this juice because it has 45% less sugar versus the leading brand and is of course, organic. Other milkshake ingredients included vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

Now Make Your Own Fruity Milkshake!

This fruity milkshake recipe is super easy as it only has four main ingredients plus toppings. When you’re done blending the milkshake, put any toppings you have on hand on top of the whipped cream. Some ideas include chocolate chips, slices of fruit, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and nuts.
