MY NAME IS AI LIN Book Launch Party a Success!
On Saturday, July 12, I attended the MY NAME IS AI LIN book launch party at Huntington Public Library to celebrate the release of my new book! We had over 100 registrations, and I’m so grateful to the many friends and family members who attended.

For the event, the children sat on the floor so I could interact with them. Adults and older kids sat in the chairs behind them. I did a book reading and presentation that focused on themes of respect and dignity regarding correctly pronouncing someone’s name.

After the book reading and presentation, I signed books for attendees. Thank you to the Friends of the Huntington Public Library non-profit group for helping to sell books! It was great seeing so many families interested in MY NAME IS AI LIN.

Families could also go to the adjoining room to enjoy light refreshments as well as do book-related crafts. Kids could make a family tree using real twigs for the trunk and branches. They could also learn how to write the word for “love” in Chinese.

Thank you to my friend, Gina, for volunteering to take pictures during the event. I’d also like to thank my sister for flying out from Michigan to support me. My husband, children, and several in-laws were also in attendance.
The staff at the Huntington Public Library worked hard to ensure the event ran smoothly. Thank you to the Library Director, Jose Rodrigo Hernandez, for making the opening statements. I’d also like to give a shoutout to Youth and Parent Department staff members Andrea Pavlik and Sue Bartholomew for being my point people for the MY NAME IS AI LIN book launch party!
Lastly, thank you to readers who continue to follow and support me from my Bicultural Mama blogging days to the launch of my debut book IT’S CHINESE NEW YEAR, CURIOUS GEORGE, and now to my second book, MY NAME IS AI LIN. I’m also so appreciative of new readers and fans of MY NAME IS AI LIN. I look forward to what the future holds!
