Come See Me in Michigan! MY NAME IS AI LIN Author Visit at Plymouth District Library 8/17/25

As many of you know, I grew up in Michigan. As such, I have deep ties there. Every summer I visit my family and friends in Michigan. This year, since my new picture book, MY NAME IS AI LIN, launched this July, I wanted to schedule a book event in Michigan during my stay.
However, finding a venue in Michigan when I was no longer living there proved a bit challenging. I was not familiar with the local bookstores, and time was tight. In a last-ditch effort to find a place to host a book event, I reached out to a group I knew was familiar with Michigan – my high school class reunion Facebook group. I had helped to run this group for my last high school reunion, so I had a hunch someone may have insights to share.
I posted in the group, and thankfully, several people reached out to me with leads. It was one of my close high school friends, Theresa, who shared a contact at Plymouth District Library. For those who may not know, Plymouth is the town next door to Northville, my hometown. Better yet, Plymouth District Library was able to schedule an author event for me on August 17th (thanks, Heather!). The date was perfect, as many of my family members are planning to be in Michigan that weekend and therefore, they could attend my book event.
The event will include a book reading and presentation, activities for kids, snacks, and a book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase thanks to the Library’s partner, Plymouth bookstore Elephant Ear Books.
The Plymouth District Library MY NAME IS AI LIN author event is open to the public. All ages are welcome. Registration is required. Please register at this link or call (734) 453-0750.
Hope to see you there!
