I grew up eating Asian food so am familiar with the delicious flavors this cuisine entails. My mom is one of those cooks who is so accomplished that she never needs to use a recipe. She cooks based on sight, smell, taste, and sound and then adjusts ingredients as necessary. The food she cooks always turns out like restaurant-quality dishes.
I am nowhere near the level of my mom’s cooking when it comes to Asian cuisine. Yet I often long to eat dishes with Asian flavors. With two children who have packed schedules and my writing business to run, it can be challenging for me to find time to cook Asian foods from scratch. So when I need my Asian food fix, I turn to Ling Ling. The Asian food company makes authentic-flavored potstickers, noodles, and fried rice found in your grocer’s frozen aisle.
I love the convenience of Ling Ling Asian Food products. They’re easy to make – just heat and serve. So when we get home at 6:30 pm from my daughter’s Tae Kwon Do class, and there’s no time to make a meal from scratch, I simply take out a package of Ling Ling from the freezer and dinner is ready in minutes.

My family loves Ling Ling Potstickers, and recently I created an easy Potsticker Ramen Noodle Soup Recipe that’s filling and satisfying. Another dish my family enjoys is Ling Ling Fried Rice featuring flavors from China and Japan. The recipes include fresh vegetables, chicken or beef, and flavor-infused rice. Ling Ling Fried Rice flavors include Chinese-Style Vegetable (meatless), Yakitori Chicken (Japanese), Yakiniku Beef (Japanese), Thai-Style Chicken (Thai), and BiBimBap Beef (Korean).
When I was in Japan a few years ago, I ate at a Yakiniku restaurant. Yakiniku (焼き肉 or 焼肉) cuisine refers to a Japanese style of cooking featuring bite-sized grilled meat and vegetables. In Yakiniku restaurants, customers grill their own food tableside and then dip the morsels into savory-sweet sauces known as “tare.” Ling Ling Japanese-Style Yakiniku Beef Fried Rice reminded me of my meal in Japan. Ling Ling’s version includes tender Yakiniku beef marinated in garlic, ginger, and soy sauce mixed with long grain rice, green beans, yellow carrots, red bell peppers, and green onions.
To cook, simply add vegetable oil to a non-stick skillet and add contents of either one or two bags from the package. Cook on medium heat, cover with a lid and stir occasionally. Cook thoroughly to 165°F which is approximately 7-8 minutes for one bag and 10-11 minutes for two bags. Stovetop cooking results in a crispier texture. The package also includes microwave instructions. This will produce a moisture texture of fried rice.
