Bilingual Personalized Books for Kids #ReadYourWorld

Note: Thank you to TimTimTom Books for providing a copy to review for Multicultural Children’s Book Day. All opinions are my own.

bilingual personalized book for kids

Children love books where they see themselves in the story. Reading or seeing characters who look like them helps kids to imagine they are within the story. When a book is personalized with the child’s name, it makes it even that much more real to them.

TimTimTom Books publishes bilingual personalized books for kids. It is rare to find personalized books in one language, so to find a publisher who creates customized books in two languages is even more unique.

I had the opportunity to review TimTimTom’s Underwater Adventure book written by Saskia Reusens and illustrated by Katrien VanSchuylenbergh. The personalized book I chose was in English and Simplified Chinese (they offer 10 languages to choose from).

The title was personalized with my child’s name in both languages. I loved that I could customize the hairstyle as well as the color of the character’s hair, eyes, and skin to match my daughter. She was thrilled to see a little girl in the book that looked like her, and reading the story with her name on every page made it even more special!

Bright, colorful illustrations filled each page to enhance the story of a little girl’s adventure in the ocean with lots of friendly sea creatures. The high-quality hardcover book was printed on thick stock paper, making it easier for little hands to turn pages without bending or ripping them.

How It Works

STEP 1: Choose a Story

Choose your preferred storybook such as Underwater Adventure, Swan Lake, or the Football/Soccer story. All books have the same price and include free worldwide shipping.

STEP 2: Select Two Languages

TimTimTom books offer stories in 10 languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Chinese (Simplified or Traditional). You can choose any two languages in your chosen book. The first language you choose will appear on the left-hand side of each double-page, and the second language will be printed on the right-hand side.

STEP 3: Enter Child’s Name

Input the first name of the child as you want it to appear in the story. The stories are written in such a way that it works best to use the child’s calling name. In case the child has a different name in each of the languages chosen, there is the possibility to input a name for each language. Just make sure you input the name in the same order as the chosen languages.

STEP 4: Select Child’s Appearance

You can choose between a boy and girl, hairstyle, and the color of the child’s skin, eyes, and hair.

STEP 5: Enter a Personal Message

You can write a personal dedication to the child. This dedication will appear in the printed version as written by you. It will not be translated as it will appear exactly as you enter it.

TimTimTom Books would make a beautiful, high-quality gift for any child. Purchase TimTimTom bilingual personalized books for kids on its website Timtimtom.com/our-books.
